Gallery

village fabric shoppe - the feather gallery

We have the "Feathers Gallery" which is an exhibition space dedicated to the Art of the Quilt. Our exhibits rotate about every three months and most often consist of work by our customers, frequently done in classes and workshops here. The images you see are from the "Fabric is Fun" exhibit, the Star is by Luella Jane Winne, and the Medallion is by Patricia Cowperthwaite. Contact us for exhibit prospectus and current shows. The work below is original and copyrighted to Diana Louie, the maker.

Trying to Stay Centered

art quilt - trying to stay centered Artist: Diana Louie
Media: commercial cottons

Dimensions: 60" x 60"

The swirling motion created by the prints in the fabric was echoed by the feathers in the quilting. The entire project was done during a difficult summer for me and really did help me to stay centered in the midst of chaos.
